We are Butte Community Celebrations Inc! Our organization was founded in January 2014 with only four members: Ken Devine, Linda Redfern, Paulette Scherr and Sandy Yakawich. Membership has increased and we received our 501 (c)(3) designation in November 2015.
Our goal is to continue providing the time honored Butte traditions of the Duggan Dolan/Pat Kearney Blarney Stone Fun Run (co-sponsored with Duggan Dolan Mortuary), St. Patrick’s Day parade, Veteran’s Picnic, 4th of July Freedom Fest parade and Charlie Judd Memorial Children’s Halloween party. All events are FREE to the public.
We strive to improve on these events each year. The 4th of July festivities includes a float build where we create floats for specific businesses to be in the parade. Award Luncheons were added to celebrate the winning entries of each parade with trophies. The Halloween party is a favorite of ours and we go all out to create new displays each year to keep it fun and interesting for the children. Free hot dogs, soda and water are provided at the party.
Events such as these require a lot of volunteers. We need people who can help design/build floats, carry buckets during the parades to collect money and work the various positions for each event. Our funding comes from money collected during the parades and a contribution request sent to businesses annually.
